The state‐of‐the‐art of both ion‐sensitive field‐effect transistors (ISFETs) and ion‐selective electrodes (ISEs) when working in continuous flow systems is reviewed. The features and development of each type of sensor are established, and the advantages of the use of one or the other are discussed.
