The electrochemical oxidation of thiobenzanilide was studied in anhydrous acetonitrile as a model for the enzymatic oxidation of the substance. It has been found that a single electron is exchanged in the presence of 5 × 10 −2 M HClO 4 The oxidation products were identified as H 2 S, benzanilide, and 2‐phenylbenzthiazole.
