The following tensammetric schemes, alternating current (ac) polarography of fundamental harmonic and second harmonic, phase‐sensitive ac, square wave tensammetry, differential pulse and normal pulse tensammetry, Kalousek commutator technique, derivative chronopotentiometry, and several other techniques, are reviewed. Thermodynamic background and kinetic limitations of tensammetric analytical signals are discussed. Special attention is given to the behavior of mixtures and to the consequences of association of the analyte as well as to applications of different tensammetric techniques.
