Abstract Experimental conditions for the qualitative and quantitative application of the carbon paste electroactive electrode (CPEE) in the analysis of powders and pulverizable materials are demonstrated for two substances (Cu and TiC) with different reaction schemes in sulfuric acid. The selection of the carbon powder, the type and content of the organic binder, and the paste preparation was done with respect to homogeneity and reproducibility. The influence of the size and shape of the sample particles as well as of the graphite particles on the analytical result is discussed.
