Four kinds of disulfides in organic compounds were sensitively detected in NH 4 OH‐NH 4 Cl (0.2 M)‐Co 2+ (5 × 10 −4 M) solution by differential‐pulse polarography. This detection mechanism was based on the Brdicka reaction. A new flow‐through cell (on‐detector reactor) was used to combine the polarographic detection with high‐performance liquid chromatography. The detection limit for dithioglycolic acid was 1 × 10 −4 M using 10 μl samples.
