A simple derivation shows the validity of the reciprocal relation between charge transfer resistance and exchange current density. The result is independent of the equation used for estimating the potential difference across the space charge region. Butler‐Volmer kinetics with Frumkin correction or the Ver wey‐Niessen model (i.e. Frumkin correction only) lead to the same result.
