The use of dropping mercury, hanging mercury drop, and static mercury drop electrodes in flow analysis and liquid chromatography is reviewed. Theoretical considerations (particularly flow rate dependence), measuring techniques, designs of flow‐through detectors, and methods of oxygen removal in flow systems are discussed. A brief guide to flow applications of mercury electrodes is also given.
