The Cover Feature shows an Electron Donor Acceptor (EDA) complex between N ‐methylmorpholine (NMM, organic base), and the Umemoto's reagent. This EDA complex is activated thermally, however, visible light illumination is required in most other cases. In the illustrated case, the electron transfer process produces CF 3 radicals and the radical cation of NMM. CF 3 radicals add onto aromatic rings accomplishing trifluoromethyl group substitution.
