The Front Cover shows a collage with a stylized portrait of the 1930 chemistry Nobel prize winner, Hans Fischer. It includes motives from Fischer's lifework on the structure elucidation and synthesis of pyrrole derivatives, including porphyrins and complex plant pigments, such as chlorophyll. In 1912, Hans Fischer reported an intriguing alkylation of pyrroles with alcohols by what now appears to be a “borrowing‐hydrogen” reaction involving hydrogen autotransfer (HAT). The use of iridium pincer complexes as catalysts in this chemistry now results in much milder reaction conditions. More information can be found in the Full Paper by L. Hintermann et al.
