An efficient method for the iron(III) porphyrin catalyzed olefination of various aldehydes with 2,2,2‐trifluorodiazoethane under neutral conditions is described. This transformation was shown to have a broad substrate scope and provide the corresponding CF 3 ‐substituted alkenes in good yields. The number of equivalents of PPh 3 that is used in this reaction is crucial to the success of the olefination process. This reaction is a useful supplement to the synthetic applications of CF 3 CHN 2 .
