The cover picture shows a range of chiral bifunctional catalysts developed by the group of Shibasaki. These catalysts are a unique, highly efficient, and broadly applicable class of catalysts, which enable highly enantioselective reactions. Their beneficial properties have made them interesting for the development of processes for industrial purpose. For the commercial use of Shibasaki catalysts a range of companies have been involved, such as Actelion Pharmaceuticals, Nissan Chemicals, Hokko Chemicals, SKW Trostberg AG, and Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma jointly with Sunovion Pharmaceuticals. Details are discussed in the Microreview by H. Gröger on p. 4116 ff . The author is very grateful to Dr. Naoya Kumagai for his great support in the preparation of the artwork in this cover picture.
