The cover picture shows a dinuclear Pt II complex bearing a crownophane as a functional ligand. The molecule is placed on the escutcheon of a heraldic achievement with two lions as supporters and a crown as the crest. Naturally, the crown refers to the crown ether moiety of the compound. The motto, which says “Pt II Crownophane”, names the title molecule. The crownophane ligand was synthesized in 11 steps and was investigated in solid state and in solution. The target compound was obtained by clicking the Pt II centers to the scaffold. Details are discussed in the Short Communication by P. Bäuerle et al. on 3887 ff . The authors are grateful to Alexander Ruth for his contribution of the cover graphic.
