A base‐promoted tandem reaction of 2‐(2‐alkynylphenyl)aziridines with 2‐isocyanoacetates in the presence of copper(II) triflate gives tetrahydro‐3 H ‐indeno[2,1‐ d ]pyrimidines in good yields, with the formation of two new rings and three bonds.
