The Pd 0 ‐catalyzed hydrogenolysis of 2,3‐bis(acetoxymethyl)bicyclo[2.2.1]hepta‐2,5‐diene ( 1 ) is described. The influence of various hydride sources on the reaction, as well as different experimental conditions and organophosphorus ligands have been rigorously investigated.
