The first (N‐heterocyclic carbene)Au I ‐catalyzed Mannich addition reactions of N ‐protected imines with different 1,3‐dicarbonyl compounds are described. IPrAuNTf 2 was proven to be an efficient catalyst for the reactions of β‐keto esters and 1,3‐diketones with N ‐sulfonylimines to afford the desired β‐amino carbonyl compounds in good yields under very mild conditions.
