Some new, interesting, and unknown heterocyclic rings and open‐chain molecules have been obtained with ease and under mild conditions by reaction of a wide range of aminocarbonyl compounds with acetylenic esters. The reactivity is highly dependent on the substituents and their positions in the starting material, which can be either cyclic (pyrazolones) or open‐chain compounds.
