Abstract Several new methods for the synthesis of phosphorus dendrimers capped with biologically active azabisphosphonates are reported. Monomers bearing either azido or acetylenic groups were designed as building blocks either for attachment onto the surfaces of classical phosphorus dendrimers or for use in the construction of original dendrimers without the need for use of sensitive dichloro(monomethylhydrazino)thiophosphane.
