A set of m ‐terphenylenes having a readily functionalizable hydroxy group as well as either symmetric AA‐type or unsymmetric AB‐type halide termini have been prepared on a several‐gram scale. The synthesis was carried out on the basis of the Suzuki–Miyaura cross‐coupling in combination with a TMS masking strategy. (© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, 69451 Weinheim, Germany, 2009)
