Three different synthetic routes to obtain a gable‐like bis(porphyrin) are described. The two porphyrins are covalently linked to a 2,9‐diphenyl‐1,10‐phenanthroline chelate. One way to gain access to the bis(porphyrin) relies on the simultaneous construction of two porphyrins on a 2,9‐bis( para ‐formylphenyl)‐1,10‐phenanthroline, whereas the other two are based on Suzuki cross‐coupling reactions between a presynthesised porphyrin and an appropriate phenanthroline derivative.(© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
