A series of chiral ferrocene‐containing thiourea derivatives have been synthesized, and their enantioselective recognition properties were investigated by UV/Vis titration. Receptors 5a and 6a exhibit excellent chiral recognition abilities towards N ‐acetylaspartate. The differences in solution colour can be observed directly by the naked eye. The minimum energy structures of 5a and 6a were also obtained by theoretical DFT calculations. (© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, 69451 Weinheim, Germany, 2009)
