The cover picture shows a comparison between 2D and 3D architectures of bisphenanthrolines. The architecture of 2D self‐assembled surface monolayers was explored by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) at the solid–liquid interface, while 3D structures of the same compounds were elucidated in the solid state by X‐ray structure analysis. Details are discussed in the article by M. Schmittel et al. on p. 3079 ff.
