The cover picture shows the different NMR spectra of xenon atoms encapsulated in cryptophane‐A and C 2 ‐symmetrical analogs. The high sensitivity of the xenon chemical shift to its environment allows the detection of small structural perturbations of the hosts. A slight modification of the internal volume of the cage compounds leads to an appreciable change of the 129 Xe NMR chemical shifts. There exists a direct correlation between the stability constant K a and the van der Waals volume of the cavity. Details of the synthesis of the new cryptophane hosts and complexation dynamics are presented in the article by T. Brotin and J.‐P. Dutasta on p. 973 ff.
