The complete structure of one of the O ‐specific polysaccharide components from the soda lake bacterium Halomonas magadii is described. The structural determination, which was achieved by chemical, spectroscopic, and computational analysis, indicates a novel trisaccharide repeating unit made up of glucose and two units of 2‐acetamido‐2‐deoxy‐guluronic acid: ⇄4)‐α‐ L ‐Gul p NAcA‐(1⇄6)‐α‐ D ‐Glc p ‐(1⇄4)‐α‐ L ‐Gul p NAcA‐(1⇄ (© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
