Chagosensine, a sixteen‐membered chlorinated macrolide, was isolated from the Red Sea calcareous sponge Leucetta chagosensis . Its structure was elucidated mainly on the basis of NMR spectroscopic data. The relative and absolute configurations were determined by analysis of 1 H and 13 C NMR, NOESY, and CD data, by the modified Mosher’s method, and by using degradation products.
