A family of five regioisomeric protected fucosyllactoses has been synthesised in only 14 overall steps from the easily available benzyllactoside. The adopted strategy combines enzymatic regioselective protection, introduction of orthogonal protecting groups and regioselective glycosylations on partially unprotected lactosidic acceptors.
