Functional self‐assembled lipidic systems derived from renewable resources Julian R. Silverman, Malick Samateh and George John DOI: 10.1002/ejlt.201500198 The biocatalytic synthesis of renewably resourced molecules expands our chemical dictionary of functional lipid derivatives. Harnessing the structural variations of lipids to impart utility and function aff ords libraries of unique molecular structures and functions. Assembling these chemicals via non‐covalent forces opens up untold possibilities, creating non‐persistent multi functional materials ripe for next generation formulations and products. Generating a variety of natural based potential systems is limited only by a chemists' imagination.
