Kinetic modeling of the quasi‐homogeneous oxidation of glycerol over unsupported gold particles in the liquid phase José Antonio Díaz, Elżbieta Skrzyńska, Jean‐Sébastien Girardon, Jamal Ftouni, Mickaël Capron, Franck Dumeignil and Pascal Fongarland DOI: 10.1002/ejlt.201500189 A robust kinetic model for the homogeneous catalytic glycerol (GLY) partial oxidation over Au nanoparticles is proposed, considering the base‐assisted non‐catalytic reaction and the eff ect of the reaction temperature, the NaOH/GLY & the GLY/Au ratios. Such a model enables better understanding of the mechanisms leading to oxidation and C‐C cleavage, which selectively occur over the Au nanoparticles. The obtained parameters can subsequently be used to design a reactor for scaling an industrial unit.
