A comparison between three Tp x M‐catalyzed (Tp x = scorpionate ligand; M = Cu, Ag) reactions leading to the functionalization of non‐activated, alkane C sp 3 –H bonds by carbene, nitrene or oxo insertion is presented. Analogies and differences in these transformations are discussed, including main reactive intermediates, selectivity trends and mechanistic interpretations.
