The Cover Feature shows phosphorus‐containing degradable polymers. By incorporating phosphorus into polymer main‐chains functional polymers can be prepared, which can respond in numerous ways to specific stimuli. In the example shown, the stimulus causes a triggered depolymerization and/or degradation of the polymer. Recent developments in the synthesis and applications of phosphorus‐based smart polymers that respond to a variety of stimuli are reviewed in the article. The artwork was created by Melanie Kleindienst. More information can be found in the Microreview by I. Teasdale.
