The cover picture shows the molecular structures of four new heteroleptic Ru II complexes bearing thienyl groups coordinated to the metal center through 2,2'‐bipyridine ligands via amide or C–C linkages. The nature of this linkage can influence the photophysical properties of these complexes by modulating electron‐ or energy‐transfer processes from the electron‐rich thienyl groups to the metal center. In order to probe the behavior of these complexes under visible‐light irradiation, their photophysical behavior was examined with transient absorption spectroscopy, as illustrated in the spectra in the top right‐hand corner of the image. Details are discussed in the article by M. O. Wolf et al. on p. 1470 ff . For more on the story behind the cover research, see the Cover Profile .
