Treatment of the donor‐stabilized silylene [ i PrNC(N i Pr 2 )N i Pr] 2 Si ( 1 ) with [Mn 2 (CO) 10 ] leads to the five‐coordinate silicon(IV) complex 6 , accompanied by elimination of two CO molecules. In this redox reaction, the dimanganese fragment is reduced to form an [(OC) 4 Mn=Mn(CO) 4 ] 2– moiety that is coordinated to the silicon(IV) species {[ i PrNC(N i Pr 2 )N i Pr] 2 Si} 2+ .
