This article describes a stereochemical study on five‐coordinate complexes of Pt II containing a prochiral alkene ( E ‐R 1 O 2 CCH=CHCO 2 R 1 ) and a prochiral sulfide R 2 SR 3 , of general formula [PtMe(R 2 SR 3 )(dmphen) ( E ‐R 1 O 2 CCH=CHCO 2 R 1 )]BF 4 . Through mono‐ and two‐dimensional NMR spectroscopy, it was demonstrated that there is mutual recognition between the prochiral ligands in the presence of aryl sulfides R 2 SAr, whose origin was also explained. The equilibrium constants of sulfide exchange were also evaluated, which are in full agreement with the σ‐donor properties of the ligands.
