The synthesis of 3,3′‐diamino‐4,4′‐bisfuroxane and its isomer 4,4′‐diamino‐3,3′‐bisfuroxane was explored for the first time. In addition, the structure of highly dense (2.007 g cm –3 at 100 K) and energetic 4,4′‐dinitro‐3,3′‐bisfuroxane was determined. The energetic properties of the compounds, including their thermal behavior and sensitivities, were determined, and their heat of formation and explosive properties were calculated.
