This issue of EurJIC highlights coordination chemistry research 100 years after the first proposal of the structure of [Co(NH 3 ) 6 ]Cl 3 as we know it today by Alfred Werner, which formed the foundation of Coordination Chemistry. Our Guest Editors, Debbie Crans and Ebbe Nordlander, invited selected participants of the 4th Zing Coordination Chemistry Conference held in Cancun in December 2013 to submit papers for this Cluster Issue.
