This essay for EurJIC 's cluster issue on molecular conductors introduces multifunctional conducting molecular materials. This field involves the design, synthesis, and fabrication of molecular conductors from molecular, crystal, and nanohybrid structures in real space and electronic band structure and periodicity in k space. This multidisciplinary field fuses organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry, and solid‐state and theoretical physics. Understanding multifunctional molecular conductors based on molecular and crystal structures and electronic band structure should lead to the development of new and unconventional molecular conductors .
