The synthesis and characterization of a series of 1, n ′‐disubstituted ferrocenoyl cysteine and histidine conjugates is reported. Their interaction with a range of metal ions was studied. The results show that metal coordination in His‐containing peptides involved the imidazole group. Metal coordination affects the structural properties of the ferrocene (Fc) conjugates, as judged by CD spectroscopy, and also the redox properties of the Fc group.
