The reactions of [Mn 4 (hmp) 6 (NO 3 ) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ](ClO 4 ) 2 with (Bu 4 N) 2 [CoX 4 ] (X = Cl, Br) in CH 3 CN have been studied and the new heterometallic tetranuclear clusters [Co III 2 Mn II 2 (hmp) 6 Cl 2 (CH 3 CN) 2 ]Mn II Cl 4 · 3CH 3 CN and [Co III 2 Mn II 2 (hmp) 6 Br 2 (CH 3 CN) 2 ]Mn II Br 4 · 4CH 3 CN have been synthesized and characterized by TGA, electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction, and magnetic measurements. The magnetic properties of the heterometallic clusters were analyzed by DFT and ab initio calculations.
