The facile two‐electron reduction of the phosphaalkyne t BuC≡P by the U III cyclopentadienyl–pentalene mixed‐sandwich complex [U(η 5 ‐C 5 Me 5 ){η 8 ‐C 8 H 4 (Si i Pr 3 ) 2 }] is reported. A single‐crystal X‐ray structural analysis of the diuranium(IV) product [(U{η 5 ‐C 5 Me 5 }{η 8 ‐C 8 H 4 (Si i Pr 3 ) 2 }) 2 (μ‐ t BuCP)] shows that it contains a slightly unsymmetrical, bridging μ‐η 2 :η 1 ‐ligated phosphaalkene dianion.
