The front cover picture shows selected examples of solid‐state structures, combining a cheap metal (here copper) with smart ligands (here lutidinyl‐based PN and PNP systems), amenable to bifunctional bond activation of (small molecule) substrates and cooperative catalysis. Financial support for this work from the Netherlands' Research Council (NWO) is gratefully acknowledged. These structures are accompanied by perpetual ‚tandem‐bicycles’. Miss Christine Czauderna is thanked for the inspirational design. Progress and potential for the emerging field of cooperative catalysis with first‐row transition metals is outlined in the Microreview by J. I. van der Vlugt on p. 363 ff.
