The oxidation reactions of diiodoselones 10a and 10b with silver tetrafluoroborate afford linear complexes of iodonium ions with selones 13a and 13b . The decomposition of the tellurium tetraiodide adduct with benzimidazolin‐2‐selone ( 12 ) in chloroform also affords a similar iodonium ion complex 13c . Crystal structure analysis of 13a – 13c shows interesting supramolecular formation by C–H ··· F, C–H ··· Br, C–H ··· I, Se ··· π, and I ··· π interactions.
