The cover picture shows the emissions of the Cu I coordination complexes presented in the Short Communication by P. Coppo et al. on p. 3567 ff. The energy of the emission can be tuned within the visible region by careful selection of the alkynyl ligands. In addition, the lifetime of the excited state can be increased by up to two orders of magnitude, by coordination to highly conjugated alkynyl ligands. All complexes show good quantum yields of photoluminescence in degassed solutions.
