New chiral bis(triazolium) salts have been prepared in good yields. The corresponding mononuclear platinum(II) complexes [Pt{bis(NHC)}X 2 ] (X = Br, I) have been synthesized and spectroscopically characterized. One of the synthesized biscarbene complexes has also been characterised by X‐ray crystallography. These complexes are efficient catalyst precursors for the hydrosilylation of 1‐octene.
