Monosubstituted amidinate complexes [RC(NR′) 2 ]ECl 2 [E = Sb, R = t Bu, R′ = i Pr 1 , Cy 2 , 2,6‐ i Pr 2 C 6 H 3 (Dipp) 3 ; R = n Bu, R′ = i Pr 4 ; E = Bi, R = t Bu, R′ = i Pr 5 , Dipp 6 ] were prepared in high yields by salt elimination reactions of ECl 3 with Li amidinates. 1 – 6 were characterized by elemental analyses, NMR and IR spectroscopy and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. In addition, computational calculations were performed to clarify the different bonding modes in 1 and 5 . (© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, 69451 Weinheim, Germany, 2009)
