The Schiff base ligand H 2 L, N , N′ ‐bis(3,5‐di‐ tert ‐butylsalicylidene)‐1,3‐diaminobenzene yields a diferric complex, [L 2 Fe III 2 (NO 3 ) 2 ] ( 1 ), in which the d 5 high‐spin iron(III) centers are ferromagnetically coupled through the spin polarization mechanism.
