We report here the synthesis and characterization of a new heteroleptic ruthenium(II) complex and its applications as efficient light‐harvesting sensitizer in functional dye‐sensitized solar cells. The relation between the interfacial charge‐transfer processes that govern the device performance and the cell efficiency under illumination are also discussed. (© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
