Dichloro[(1 R ,2 R )‐ trans ‐diaminocyclohexane]platinum(II) was activated with Ag 2 CO 3 and then treated with ( S )‐methionine, S ‐methyl‐( S )‐cysteine, ( S )‐selenomethionine and Se ‐methylseleno‐( S )‐cysteine. The N , S ‐ and N , Se ‐chelated platinum(II) species were isolated as hexafluorophosphate salts andcharacterized by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, ESI‐MS, IR, elemental analyses and, in the case of the ( S )‐methionine and ( S )‐selenomethionine complexes, by X‐ray crystallography.
