1‐Methyl‐3‐propylimidazolium chloride (MPImCl) and 1‐propylpyridinium chloride (PPyCl) ionic liquid functionalized SBA‐15 mesoporous materials were synthesized and used as heterogeneous catalysts in Knoevenagel reactions with excellent yields and reusability.
