The hydrothermal reaction of V 2 O 5 , H 2 C 2 O 4 ·2H 2 O, KOH, en and NiCl 2 ·6H 2 O yields a new three‐dimensional open‐framework solid. The extended structure consists of a three‐dimensional network of [V 16 O 38 Cl] 8− cages, with each cage connected to six other neighboring units through [Ni(en) 2 ] 2+ bridging groups.
