Abstract By means of blister formation produced by cantharidin, a certain number of human macrophages could be readily obtained from the blister exudate. In the presence of 50% cell‐free exudate, these cells were found to proliferate in vitro. The proliferating cells possessed the morphology and functional characteristics of macrophages.
