SUMMARY We designed a miniaturized permanent magnet synchronous motor with a magnetic gear by using an optimal design technique based on thermomagnetic field coupling analysis. To construct an even smaller motor, investigating the heat dissipation from the motor and increasing its rotation speed are necessary. We manufactured and tested the designed motor with a magnetic gear. The measured torque and motor efficiency demonstrated the high precision of the proposed design.
